Embryo Donation: Medical Steps and Procedures
Carol Sommerfelt, a nationally recognized embryologist with the National Embryo Donation Center will provide detailed information about the medical process associated with embryo donation including best practice medical assessment protocols, FDA mandates, and practice implementation. Following the presentation, Ms. Sommerfelt will answer individual questions from the audience.

Embryo Donation: Legal Steps and Procedures

Eric Phelps, an attorney specializing in reproductive law, will offer information regarding the aspects of contract and property law that underlie the practice of embryo donation. He will discuss information related to embryo donation contracts, federal, state, and local laws. He will offer a period for questions following his presentation.

Embryo Donation: A Recipient Couples Perspective
Hear the compelling personal story of Mike and Nicole Bell, a couple who personally experienced the birth of twins as embryo recipients. The Bells will answer questions following their presentation.

Embryo Donation: An Embryo Donor’s Perspective
Join Tom and Amy Echols as they walk you through their personal journey with infertility and the events that led to their decision to donate their embryos to another couple. The Echols share their feelings about the donation process and reflect on the relationships they have built with the couple who received their embryos. Following the presentation, the Echols will answer individual questions from the audience.

Embryo Donation: Family Relationships and the Experiences shared by Donors and Recipients
This session will be presented by Debra Peters, Director of Embryo Services for Bethany Christian Services. Ms. Peters will discuss the social, emotional, and familial aspects involved with embryo donation. Following the presentation, Ms. Peters will answer individual questions from the audience.
